When he had the chance to meet his hero at the concert, Lunay acted swifted and made the star a promise: someday they would work together. A couple years later, after getting his footing with “Si Te Vas Conmigo” and “Dejame Saber,” he was shaking hands with Chris Jeday and Gaby Music, key writer/producers on Team Yankee, and his visibility, like his value, leveled up quick A 2018 creative flourish that found him virtually living in the recording studio resulted in dropping a parade of tracks under his own name (kicking off with the juggernaut of “A Solas” and its killer remix) and being featured on hits by some of reggaeton’s biggest names, including Zion y Lennox, Anuel AA, Bad Bunny, and yes, Daddy Yankee. Now, the kid who once entertained the members of his soccer team with his rhymes, and caught the fire of performance from watching the hand percussionists in his family’s church, is about to hit 2020 with lots of critical kudos and a widening audience in the wake of his album debut, ‘Épico.’ The natural charisma he brought to his Artists To Watch performances is electric.
