EU calls on Ethiopia to lift Tigray communications blackout as Sudan refugee camps get overcrowded

The European Union has called on the Ethiopian government to lift the communications blackout on the Northern Tigray region, as EU Commissioner Janez Lenari visited the Umm Rakouba camp in Sudan on Thursday, where tens of thousands have fled fighting between the federal forces and the Tigray rebels. The camps are growing daily in size and the aid workers are becoming overwhelmed.
